Meet Andrew Schwab, a graduate of Colangelo College of Business and an Honors College alum who recently received his diploma in business management with minors in entrepreneurial studies and military science. His career at Grand Canyon University was one filled with excitement and opportunities.
A Man of Many Talents
Andrew was involved in many things at GCU. He was not only in the Honors College, but also was a part of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, on the Dean’s list, went to the Arizona School of Real Estate and Business and got his real estate license in Arizona.
He also participated in the Army ROTC Cultural Understanding and Leadership Program (CULP) where he was deployed to Bulgaria. He got the full experience of military deployment, travel and immersed himself in a new culture.
These missions support Army Security Cooperation objectives worldwide and include Military to Military training, Embassy assistance and Community Outreach and Cadet English Language Training Teams. The deployments are about 31 days long and Cadets are expected to perform as future officers in the United States Army.
Schwab said of the experience, “The Army will send you to a different nation for a month and you train with them and learn from them and get to do a mission. Any task is called a mission. In Bulgaria, it was to help teach conversational English to Bulgarian officers. You probably wouldn’t see that opportunity in any other club. That is probably the most unique experience.”
On top of all that, Andrew is a member of the Canyon Business Club, a volunteer for Canyon Kids, an ambassador for the New Business Development Center and on the Due Diligence Team for Canyon Angels.
Andrew has a bright future ahead of him. As he starts up on his new path, the Colangelo College of Business and Grand Canyon University wish him the best of luck in all his endeavors!
