Oh, the places you’ll go!

Senior Appreciation Week is here, and Grand Canyon University would like to recognize you, the class of 2016! This year’s theme is “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” from Dr. Seuss’ famous book of the same name.

Gina Sandoval, the public relations director of ASGCU, encourages seniors to participate events throughout the week.

“It’s a great opportunity for seniors to celebrate the end of their college years,” she said. “They can reflect back on their time at GCU, reminisce with friends and even meet new ones.”

For that purpose, GCU has planned several activities for you to exchange stories, enjoy freebies, take pictures, be recognized and become inspired by fellow peers and alumni.

Oh, the Coffee You’ll Drink!

As a senior in college, coffee has probably become your best friend over the past few years. Enjoy your last cup of joe on campus with your other best friends on Monday, March 28 or Thursday, March 31 from 10 am – 1 pm on the Student Union Promenade.

Oh, the Stories You’ll Tell!

Spending several years on GCU’s campus is bound to give you countless unforgettable stories and memories that you’ll carry with you for the rest of your life. Don’t keep these wonderful remembrances to yourself – share your stories and reminisce with your friends on the second floor of the Student Union on Thursday, March 31 from 7 – 8:30 pm.

Oh, the Gatherings You’ll Attend!

Being immersed in GCU’s Christian worldview for four years may have caused you to grow in your faith more than you could have imagined. Rejoice in the relationship you’ve build with the Lord at The Gathering on Tuesday, March 29 at 8 pm in Antelope Gymnasium.

Oh, the Celebrations You’ll Have!

There aren’t many things college seniors enjoy more than a free meal! Be sure to RSVP for the Senior Dinner on Wednesday, March 30 at 6 pm in the GCU Arena. Inspirational speakers will motivate you to thrive in the next chapter of your life and awards will be presented for Outstanding Seniors and Most Influential Faculty and Staff.

These next few weeks will be very bittersweet for many students. Sandoval reminds the class of 2016: “You absolutely don’t have to have everything together right after you graduate. Get ready for some of the most confusing, exciting and unpredictable years of your life. Be willing to work hard, try new things and make mistakes. You may have completed your time in school, but you should never stop learning.”

Class of 2016, make the most out of your last moments at GCU, celebrate during Senior Appreciation Week, visit your favorite spots on campus, thank the people who’ve made an impact on your life and proudly carry the newly earned title of GCU alumni.

Grand Canyon University strives to efficiently serve students, faculty and the community by providing opportunities to earn a Christian education. Learn more about what GCU has to offer by visiting our website today!
