Honors College Cambodia and Thailand Vision Trip Summer 2018

By Angela Bratt
Marketing Major, Honors College

The Grand Canyon University Honors College is proud to announce a brand new opportunity for students to travel to Cambodia and Thailand this summer. We will be partnering with Destiny Rescue Mission to provide students with real life exposure to the tragedies of child sex trafficking in Southeast Asian counties. Sex trafficking is a  dollar market that victimizes the most vulnerable and helpless populations. Not only will students understand the massive impact of this global issue, but they will also be able to see how much opportunity there is to help fight this criminal enterprise.

Students will have the chance to meet and interact with rescued victims, visit red light districts and see the work of the Destiny Rescue in action. In addition to the knowledge that students will gain on this trip, it will also serve to enrich their experiences of cultural awareness, ethics and service, three of the five pillars of the Honors College.

This trip was designed by our very own GCU alumna, Anna Cofrancesco, who currently works as the Honors College program coordinator. The vision trip runs from May 26 to June 9 and is an exclusive opportunity for honors students limited to 16 people.

The trip costs a total of $3,500, which includes airfare, three meals per day, housing accommodations, ground transportation, visas, exhibit entrance fees and travel insurance. The payment deadline is May 4.
