Meet Tim Haas! He has been the Adjunct Professor of Clarinet at Grand Canyon University since 2012. At Grand Canton University, he runs the GCU Clarinet Studio, coordinates recruiting events and plays Principal Clarinet in the Canyon Symphony Orchestra. Tim has been a featured soloist with the GCU Wind Ensemble and the GCU Thunder Big Band on several occasions and has performed on several GCU Faculty Recitals. He has also taught courses in chamber music and music education.
Tim has been the Principal Clarinetist of the Symphony of the Southwest since 2008. He can be heard regularly with many professional groups in the Phoenix area, including The Phoenix Symphony, Arizona Opera Orchestra, West Valley Symphony, Phoenix Opera Orchestra and MusicaNova Orchestra. Tim is also a frequent solo performer and has been a featured soloist with bands from many high school groups in the Phoenix area.
Tim maintains a large private teaching studio of clarinet and saxophone students in the Phoenix metropolitan area. His students have made numerous regional, state and national level honor groups. He has also been a clinician for many Phoenix area band programs.
Tim received a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance from Florida State University in 2005 and a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance from Arizona State University in 2003. He studied clarinet with Robert Spring, Frank Kowalsky and Deborah Bish.
