Faculty Spotlight

Who am I and how did God lead me to GCU?
In the fall of 1999, I resigned from my role as a senior pastor to join Motor Racing Outreach. While with MRO I served as Vice President and Lead Chaplain to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

After 12 years of ministry in the world of motor-sports, I accepted the position of University Pastor at GCU. During the summer of 2011 I was promoted to Vice-President of Student Affairs. In this new role I assumed the duties of Dean of Students in addition to the responsibilities of University Pastor.

What do I enjoy most about my role at GCU?
The opportunity to work with a young staff who love to serve students and the opportunity to engage college students on a daily basis. At this stage in my life, I absolutely love the chance to work with young leaders who are committed to grow their impact in the world and make a difference in the lives of people they serve.

How has the Gospel shaped my life?
Having not come from a Christian home it absolutely revolutionized my view of life, family, and my responsibility to the world. I had no idea how my commitment to follow Jesus as  a high school senior would radically affect every dimension of my life but as I look back on my personal and professional experiences, the Gospel has been the central influence in everything that I’ve done.
