Freshman Melissa Carrasco met up with Pastor Tim Griffin after Chapel on Monday morning to give her reflection of Pastor Preston Morrison’s talk on prayer. Preston is the lead pastor of Gateway Church where Melissa attends every week with her roommates and friends. She says that every message connects to her heart and is always very impactful when she hears Preston speak.

Sophomore Jackie Cleek gave some of her reflections of Chapel on Monday morning. As part of the Chapel band and the new Worship Arts program at Grand Canyon University, Jackie is always extremely involved with the behind-the-scenes work of putting on Chapel. However, her favorite part every week is hearing the different speakers that come to inspire and encourage herself and her peers. Pastors and ministry leaders from across the Valley and the United States come in every week to speak to the students and encourage them in their young adult life.

Freshman education major Molly Krabbe discussed her thoughts on Palmer Chinchen’s message with Pastor Tim Griffin after Chapel on Monday; “He really talked about us getting out and doing things to change poverty and I think that’s so awesome to hear as a college student, because we do have the resources here in America to do that kind of stuff – to reach out, even in our own neighborhood.”

Freshman and Servant Scholar Brianna Bloodworth talked with Pastor Tim Griffin after the riveting Chapel Service on Monday morning. In reflection of the message Sean Myers shared, Brianna talked a little bit about what she got out of his message on weaknesses: “Hey, I have faults too, but God can be shown through that weakness, so I thought [the message] was encouraging.” (00:51)
